Sahit Muja: President Obama has a narrow three-point advantage over Mitt Romney among Americans most likely to vote in November, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
President Obama has 49 percent and Mr. Romney has 46 percent, a difference within the margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points on each candidate.
The gender gap continues. The President leads among likely women voters by 53-41 percent. Romney holds a lead among men, 52-44 percent.
The race is close among white college graduates - Romney leads 50-47 percent. However, Romney has a much larger lead among white voters without a college degree, 57-37 percent. Romney leads among wealthier voters, 57-41 percent.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 48% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 45% of the vote.
