What is best for new riders to wear? Jodphurs with ankle boots or breeches with rubber knee-highs?

Question: I might start riding lessons, riding english and western styles. What would be the best and most affordable for me?

Answer: Either Jeans and Jodphur boots or jodphurs and Jodphur boots.
The knee-high boots are more for competitive show (dressage & Hacking) riders and these boots take quite a while to 'break in' and can be really uncomfortable.

I would opt for the jodphurs with ankle boots since the ankle boots are more versatile. They can be used with jeans for western riding whereas the rubber knee-highs cannot.
