After Eutelsat also INTELSAT in problems
[rp] Hamilton - after at the end of fought January Eutelsat with a loss of a satellite, met it now also the satellite operator INTELSAT.
The INTELSAT 4, which the satellite operator integrated with the assumption of Panamsat into its fleet, positioned on 72 degrees east, is at present out of control. Also INTELSAT 4 does not belong like Eutelsat W2 any longer to the youngest Orbitern.
It was started in August 1995 under the name Panamsat 4 by the ELA-2 space center in Guayana on board a Ariane booster rocket. Its forecast life span amounts to 15 years, which run off this yearly in August. The communication satellite built by Huges space and Communication (today Boing satellite of system) was particularly for data communication between Europe, Asia, Africa and the middle east in the use.
TV-signals were more transmitted last at least on the Europabeam none. However some African TV-offerers use still transmission capacity in the C-volume of the orbiter. At present is unclear whether the satellite be again reanimiert can. INTELSAT works on full speed on a timenear solution. The follow-up satellite of the INTELSAT 4, the INTELSAT 22 is to only go in the year 2012 to the start.
